Teaming up with Dave Small of Catalyst Audio and Buchla artist consultant Todd Barton, Buchla has a officially entered the world of Eurorack with the introduction of Buchla subsidiary, Red Panel. Named after the legendary LSD-dipped red panel from Buchla's early history at San Francisco Tape Music Center, Red Panel expands upon Dave Small's Catalyst Audio module releases based on modules from the Buchla 100 Series, with the intention of making the legacy of Don Buchla and his synthesizer designs more affordable and accessible than they ever were in their original format. Qu-Bit Electronix revealed three new modules at NAMM this weekend: Prism, Chord, and Bloom. Prism is a three-dimensional stereo signal processor, with the standard low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass filter options available, as well as control over the comb filter, resonance, and time, and the ability to freeze and decimate your inputs, and change modes on the fly. Prism is loaded with a variety of DSP effects that are mapped to a 3-D space, as indicated on the geometric panel graphic and LED arrangement in the center of the module. The masters of the micro-module, 2hp, have just announced four new modules, set to release one module a month from February to May. The first to drop is DC, a DC offset generator with three ranged DC outputs for 0-5v, 0-10v, and -5v to +5v.
